April 18th, 2009. “Asia Voila”. Two students from UBC CHIN 208, sang a Chinese song “Beijing Welcomes You” (from the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing) in Mandarin for this event celebrating Chinese language learning. We did not have much time to rehearse (which may be obvious) but we enjoyed making the audience laugh. Many thanks to our supportive teacher, Yang Laoshi, and classmates from 208!
